/ Veal form Ripollès
The Ripollès has a large expanse of meadows and pastures where calves and heifer are raised which can be found transformed into meat at different establishments from territory.
Over the years, with the need to open their way in an increasingly competitive market, some producers have specialized in organic cattle production. In all the territory we find several farms inscribed in the Consell Català de la Producción Agrària Ecològica (CCPAE).
Although at Ripollès there are different bovine breeds, it is possible to emphasize the breeding and Pyrenees Bruna conservation. This comes from an old merger between the native Catalan cow and Bruna Alpina Breed from Switzerland. It is a breed specialized in the meat production and very adapted to the meadows of the zone.
